Goodies

The ESAIP student who travelled around United Kingdom last year advised us to buy the16-25 Railcard. The Railcard costs just £28 a year then it enables us to save 1/3 on most rail fares across Britain and great discounts on days out, hotels and restaurants.

Student life

The fact that we will study in Liverpool John Moores University offers us an access to several clubs (lifestyles fitness centers). We would enjoy joining one of those clubs not only to do sport but also to create relationship with the members.

Accommodations

Hatters Hostel
As regards the accommodations, we have not found a place to live yet but we would like to find a flat to share with other English student. We have already posted many announce with our profile on several web site, for instance: www.gumtree.com www.flatshare.com www.homesforstudents.co.uk
Currently, we have some contacts and we should visit some flat share on our arrival. We have to admit that it’s hard to find an accommodation with just some photo on a website. Moreover the rent is expensive in Liverpool city center, that’s why we prefer to wait for being there to find a good and cheap flat share. Meanwhile, we have reserved a place in a youth hostel which name is Hatters Hostel. We think it’s a good mean to start the adventure and why not find some goodies with others Erasmus students.

Public transport

According to the website www.merseytravel.gov.uk , bus and train seem to be the best way to travel across Liverpool and Merseyside. There are many routes and all the information about train and bus timetables  is available on the website.

Trip...

First we have to take the train in Angers, on January 25th, in order to go to Paris. Then we will take the plane at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. Finally we should arrive in Liverpool John Lennon airport based at about11 km of the city center. We hope to find a bus line in order to rejoin our youth hostel in the city center.

Liverpool John Moores University

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is one of the universities available in the city center and the place where we’ll study. This university serves more than 24, 000 students and its localization enable us to stay around the city center.
